Social Networks

Millions of people, old and young, use the Internet for a variety of reasons. We use it to search for information, share files, listen to music, watch movies, play games, and to communicate both verbally and in writing with friends and family. The Internet can be used for pleasure, work, research etc… with so much that can be done using the internet, we are becoming more dependent on it all over the world. It has become part of our existence.

The increased use of the Internet has made our lives way easier than it used to be. The way of communication has become faster and more accurate. We’re now able to reach out to many people at the same time with no much effort. We’re now able to run businesses and finances just with a click of a button. While the Internet had brought mostly all what we want to survive in today’s world, it had also paved the way and opened a new platform for attackers and malicious users to take advantage of those who are not very well educated on the safety aspect of it. Moreover, it made it very easy for an attacker to launch an attack in few minutes, and by that gain access to a number of systems, which in return could potentially result in an overall exposure of our private and sometime sensitive information.

In today’s blog, I’d like to share with you some very useful information and tips on where we can develop our level of education on safety to help us enjoy the luxury of the Internet services without being exposed.

Millions of people use social networking sites for many different reasons. They use it to connect with old friends and far relatives, family and coworkers. But we tend to forget how valuable this information is to an attacker and especially when it comes to our profile. For that, we need to review our privacy and security settings more often and to make sure they’re tightened up in a way that makes it still an enjoyable experience but hard for the attackers to gain the information they’re looking for.
